Across every team you will hear the same - "no 2 days are the same!". We're an agile and growing business and our HQ pace really reflects this. We don't care too much for hierarchy and want everyone to have the same 'pick up the rubbish from the floor' and 'clean the kitchen' mentality. Our leadership team and founders sit amongst the teams and we work hard to to create an environment which allows for open sharing and honest challenge. MV is a very special place, and we make sure there's plenty of fun (after all, life's not a rehearsal!) but that doesn't mean it is easy to work here. We have a high performance culture to meet the challenges of today's rapid pace of change in business, and we balance those challenges with plenty of support.
HQ CAREERS
What's it like working in HQ?
Harri Withers
Buying Director
“I was Mint Velvet's first ever work experience”
I had always worked in retail stores but it was only whilst I was doing a Geography degree that I discovered what goes on behind the scenes in retail and I knew that was the career for me. I started as Mint Velvet's very first work experience and have worked my way up through the Buying team. I fell in love with the people and open culture at Mint Velvet and haven't looked back.
Life at our High Wycombe HQ
Our HQ is based in a beautiful historic building in High Wycombe, in leafy Bucks. Lots of our teams live in and around the area - we are close to the lovely market towns of Marlow, Amersham and Beaconsfield - and for those that commute we're just around the corner from the train station (on a direct 25 min train service from London Marylebone) and have plenty of parking both onsite and closeby.
Behind the period exterior the office is modern, light and open plan - a hub of collaboration and creativity. We have well-equipped meeting spaces and a stunning natural light studio in the old physics lab, just off our well-stocked communal kitchen area. Catch all the action as you make your tea or coffee! We believe it's the little things that make life lovely, particularly when you're working hard; that extends to our HQ culture, with fruit deliveries, a great range of refreshments and regular treats, activities and social to enjoy together.
Our CEO Liz also hosts regular feedback sessions with the teams, quarterly updates and our annual brand event - making time to get together, review business performance, share exciting new initiatives and the strategic direction for the brand.
