We do not charge for pieces upfront and there is no obligation to purchase. This is a credit-free service and as such there are no hidden fees or interest charges. At checkout, you will only pay the delivery fee. Your card will then be charged at the end of your 5 day try on period for any pieces that have not been returned. Making a return is easy via our Returns Portal.

What is the Try Before You Buy service?
This service allows you to place an order and try the items without being charged until 5 days after you have received your order. Once you receive your parcel you will have 5 days to try on your pieces at home and decide which pieces to keep. You can make a return in the same way as a regular Mint velvet order by visiting our Returns Portal here.
Where is the Try Before You Buy service available?
This service is available for mainland UK.
How much does the service cost?
This service is free, you will only be charged for the items that you wish to keep, 5 days after receiving your order.
Can discounts be applied?
Yes, you can use a Mint Velvet discount code when placing an order through the Try Before You Buy checkout.
How can I cancel/modify my order?
We are currently unable to accept order amendment requests, we're so sorry.
What should I do if I have not received all of my Try Before You Buy pieces?
Please contact our Customer Care team on 0345 456 2200 from Monday to Friday 09.00-19.00 BST and Saturday 09.00-17.30 BST.
When does the try on period start?
Your try on period starts when you have received all the items in your order.
How long do I have to try on my pieces?
You have 5 days from when you receive your order.
Is there a limit to how much I can order?
You can order 10 items with the Try Before You Buy option.
Can I pay with a gift card?
Unfortunately, you cannot pay with a Mint Velvet gift card.
Are there any exclusions to what I can order/try?
Gift cards & gift wrap are excluded from a Try Before You Buy order.
What happens if I don't register my return within 5 days and then decide to return later?
No problem, if you decide to return any items, you can do so by visiting our returns portal here.
Can I return my Try Before You Buy order to a boutique?
You will need to return any unwanted items via our returns portal.

When is payment taken?
